Pisa

After a 15 minute walk from the bus parking area we arrived at the Camp dei Miracoli(Field of Miracles) which encompasses the Duomo (cathedral)...

…the Baptistery…
…and the leaning tower.

Here’s Patsy, leaning toward “The Tower.”

Florence

After a two hour bus ride we finally arrived in Florence. Walking down several streets we finally reached the Plaza del Duomo where the Cathedral, Bell Tower and Baptistry share the same square.

We also stopped in the Piazza della Signora, the city’s largest square where we were able to view an exact copy of Michelangelo’s David and the Loggia dei Lanza.

The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), the only bridge left after World War II is now a famous area containing expensive jewelry shops.

Inside of the Church of Santa Croce, we experienced the 14th century interior...

... and saw the tombs of Galileo and Michelangelo.

Before We Go on Our Ride

After disembarking at La Spezia, we met up with Margaret’s new friend, Lito

Monte Carlo

Surrounded by France, Monaco, only 1.95 square km, was once the poorest state in Europe - until the Monte Carlo Casino opened in 1865.

Joy just had to check out the Lamborghini parked in front of the Casino…

and we had to prove we had been there.

After gettimg off the bus in Monaco wewalked up to see the cathedral. As we were walking we saw Princess Caroline's car...then her house!

After finally reaching the cathedral...

...we saw where Princess Grace, the former Grace Kelley, was married in 1956, then buried after her tragic accident in 1982.

We had to stop for a photo op on the steps of the cathedral.

Eze

In Eze we climbed up to see a medieval village and did a little shopping.

Villefranche and Nice

Disembarking at Villefranche, our first stop was Nice where we rode around town in a chartered bus before strolling a few blocks to see the flowermarket.
